WELCOME TO THE ISLE OF HARRIS &
Scarista Beach Bothy
A hand crafted Hebridean escape designed and built by its owners Alan & Ellen McDougall.
Constructed using traditional carpentry techniques, the Bothy is encapsulated inside a gated drystone wall enclosure and is sunken deep into the landscape to provide both shelter from coastal breezes whilst ensuring privacy to our guests. Its location provides panoramic views of the area and is only a stones throw from one of the most beautiful beaches in the UK.
The Isle of Harris forms part of the Outer Hebridean chain of Islands and lays 30 miles west of mainland Scotland.
The Bothy is nestled into the small coastal village of Scarista on the beautiful south west coast
The wide expansive beach and estuary is the perfect place to relax or find outdoor adventure.
The Isle of Harris can be reached by a number of dedicated roll on roll of ferry's and are accessible from three different ports.
You can also fly directly into Stornoway airport on the Isle of Lewis which is linked to Harris by road.
